Zeitfracht Medien GmbH is driving automation forward: Investing in innovative packaging machines from Ranpak

Erfurt, October 29, 2025.Zeitfracht Medien GmbH is firmly committed to automating its logistics center and ensuring its future-readiness: With the purchase of two state-of-the-art Flap-It packaging machines from manufacturer Ranpak, the company is investing a seven-figure sum in optimizing its packaging processes. The installation and integration of the machines into the existing inventory management system is currently in full swing; regular operations will begin gradually starting in early November and will be integrated into production alongside existing processes.

“We’re becoming better and more efficient: With these new packaging machines, we’re positioning our company to be even more modern and reliable for the future—and we’re relying on technology that has already proven itself at well-known companies. This allows us to offer our customers faster service and eliminate manual steps,” explains Thomas Raff, Managing Director of Zeitfracht Medien GmbH.

The goal of the project is to extensively automate packaging processes in the small-scale packaging facility. The benefits include significantly higher productivity, reduced cardboard consumption thanks to standardized packaging, and flexible employee involvement. Automation also brings advantages in other areas of logistics: seasonal production peaks are smoothed out, lead times are reduced, and packaging quality is improved—resulting in better protection for the goods. The machines enable a high degree of standardization: approximately 95 percent of shipments from the relevant area will be packaged in the future without the need for changeovers.

With this next step toward digitalization and automation, Zeitfracht Medien GmbH is sending a clear signal of its innovative strength and commitment to securing a sustainable future in the media and logistics sectors.
