Minister of Economic Affairs and Mayor Visit: Zeitfracht Medien Strengthens Erfurt as a Logistics Hub and Focuses on AI, Fulfillment, and Decarbonization
Erfurt, January 13, 2026 –TheErfurt logistics hub is currently a major focus of public discussion—not only as a key economic and employment hub, but also as a topic of great emotional significance for the region. Against this backdrop, Thuringia’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Colette Boos-John, and Erfurt’s Mayor, Andreas Horn, visited Zeitfracht Medien GmbH at its Erfurt location earlier this week, where they spoke with shareholder Jasmin Schröter, Wolfram Simon-Schröter, and the company’s management.
The discussion focused on the company’s current development and its strategic direction at the Erfurt logistics hub. Zeitfracht Medien reported positive business prospects: In addition to its established business units in the media and electronics segments, the company established a third pillar last year in the area of fulfillment services for third-party companies. Under the Kolibri360 brand, the company has already secured two major clients and proven itself particularly successful during the Black Friday and holiday shopping seasons.
In addition, key future issues facing the logistics industry were discussed. These include the use of artificial intelligence in logistics processes, recruitment strategies for the logistics sector, and on-site decarbonization projects. A key focus is on plans to increase the use of solar energy in order to meet the high energy demands of logistics operations in a more sustainable manner.
The discussion also made it clear that energy-intensive logistics companies are currently not benefiting from the federal government’s industrial electricity price subsidy program and are therefore facing particular challenges in the face of international competition. Against this backdrop, Zeitfracht Medien emphasized the importance of a reliable energy and economic policy framework in order to continue driving investment in innovation, digitalization, and climate protection in Erfurt.
